    Damini Ogulu better known by his stage name Burna Boy or Oluwa Burna is a Nigerian reggae & dance hall Singer, dancer and Songwriter.
    He’s infamous for being tortous, crazy and crotchety.
    Often referred to as the Tu Pac or 50cent of Nigeria.
    That happens to be his own Achilles heel as he has a long history of dates with the police in London for being too ferocious and getting into trouble.

    Birth, Early Life and Education
    Damini Ogulu was born on July 2, 1991 in his home town Ahoada, Rivers State, Nigeria.
    He relocated to Lagos at early childhood with his mum where he attended Montessori international school and Corona in Agbara.
    He furthered his education by traveling to London to pursue a degree which was unfortunately marred by his extreme head temperatures and was deported back to Nigeria with a ban.
    Music Career
    Burna Boy was inspired by Fela while growing up coupled with the fact that his grandfather Benson Idon was Fela’s manager.
    His first entry into the music scene was with the single “Abeg Abeg” before his hit single “Like to party” in 2012.
    He shot to relevance in the showbiz with the single and created a niche for himself in the industry.
    Same year the video for “Like to party” was rolled out involving squareball media services.
    Same year 2012, he released another single which was quite classic and more contemporary than his usual Afrobeat.
    It was titled “Tonight” making him more gentlemanly than ever.
    The single was produced by Aristocrats records, a record label he was signed into.
    The single and others made up his debut album “Burn Notice”.
    He later released his second successful album “Burn Identity” recording huge success.
    In an undisclosed misunderstanding between him and Aristocrats record back in 2014, he called it quits with the label while deciding his mum will seize to be his manager.
    In a tweet about the development he said “it’s time to let my mother be mother, and my manager be my manager “.
    The “Run my race crooner” has released lots of scintillating tracks alternating inbetween reggae, dancehall and afrobeats.
    Some of this great singles include yawa dey, wombo lombo something, check and balance, celebrate et al.
